Our tutors help Sec 4 Pure Chemistry students choose concepts for unfamiliar questions, organise multi-step calculations and explain experimental results. Lessons use recent papers to choose revision topics, followed by practice between classes.

First identify the quantity or relationship the question asks about. Read the labels, units and conditions before comparing values. Then ask which chemical idea can explain the pattern. A conclusion should be supported by the data given and should not extend beyond what the investigation measured.
Our tutors ask students to justify a claim with a specific comparison. If an experiment changes more than one factor, discuss what that means for the conclusion. This develops the reasoning used in both theory and practical questions. It also helps the student resist the urge to force a familiar explanation onto every graph.
The task
Two trials use the same mass of calcium carbonate and excess acid. Powder reaches the final gas volume sooner than chips; both reach the same final volume. Explain the difference.
Worked response
The powder has a greater exposed surface area, so reaction occurs faster. The same amount of carbonate reacts in both trials, giving the same final amount of gas under comparable measurement conditions.
Rate and final yield answer different questions. A steeper start does not by itself mean that more product will be made.

In calculations, check the equation, limiting reagent and final unit. In qualitative analysis, give the observation and explain what it identifies. In planning questions, explain which measurements and controls the investigation needs.
Use school practical feedback alongside written papers when deciding priorities. Online lessons can develop planning, data interpretation and evaluation; supervised laboratory work develops manipulation and measurement technique. Our tutors help students use both sources of feedback, then rehearse appropriate questions under the relevant assessment conditions.
A long question can make a student feel they need new chemistry. We separate the supplied information from the principle they already know and build the answer from both.
We check which substance and quantity each line calculates. This helps students find where they used the wrong ratio, value or unit.
We check whether the mistake came from a forgotten fact, reading the question, setting up the calculation or explaining the answer.
The tutor helps students move from an equation to a ratio, or from a property to a structure, explaining why each step follows.
Practice and spaced review revisit classwork. Students then try a timed section to check how they manage it during an assessment.

Getting started
Bring recent schoolwork so the tutor can plan the first lesson.
We read the questions, your child’s answers and teacher feedback to choose what to work on.
We message you to confirm the school programme, 2027 year level and lesson time.
A trial class lets your child meet the teacher, take part and see how the lessons work.
Frequently asked questions
Four, at most. Students are grouped by learning pace, not just by year level, so each lesson moves at the speed of the students actually in it. When no session matches a child’s pace, we open a new one. In a class that size, every child answers questions, gets their working checked, and gets help the moment they need it.

Look for mistakes that recur across topics, such as using the wrong mole ratio or leaving out a force in a bonding explanation. Practise that idea in a short question, then try it in a timed section.
Yes. The 2027 K324 course has its own practical paper; G3 Combined Science uses a practical paper across both sciences. Our syllabus guide separates the assessment tables. Preparation should follow the student’s actual course and examination year.
We teach students to use the information supplied and apply familiar principles carefully. Bring the full question and the attempted working. The tutor can identify whether the challenge is reading the data, choosing the concept or expressing the reasoning.
