SECONDARY 3 G3 MATHEMATICS
Syllabus
DeepThink aligns to Upper Secondary outcomes and exam requirements while reinforcing essential prerequisites. Preparation emphasises precise working, topic integration, and exam execution across E-Math and A-Math demands.
Upper Secondary G3 success comes from rigorous concept mastery plus disciplined exam execution.
Secondary 3 students in the G3 stream often face:
The syllabus expands significantly in Sec 3, with new topics like trigonometry, advanced algebra, and (for some streams) early calculus. Students who were comfortable before may suddenly feel stretched.
Students may know individual topics but still struggle when papers integrate many concepts under time pressure.
Exam questions combine multiple concepts, so students need both technical fluency and strategic planning.
Revision competes with many subjects; without clear prioritisation, important Math topics are often under-practised.
DeepThink supports Secondary 3 students in the G3 stream through targeted diagnostics, structured teaching, and strategic practice:
Our platform identifies chapter-level weaknesses early so students focus effort where it matters most.
We front-load the hardest new concepts with structured teaching and targeted practice, so students keep pace instead of falling behind as complexity increases.
DeepThink uses targeted diagnostics, correction workflows, and strategic teaching to lift consistency in exam conditions.
Students and parents see what is secure, what needs reinforcement, and which topics should be prioritised next.
With consistent support, students can approach O-Level papers with precision, confidence, and exam-ready stamina.
Program facts
The details parents usually want before deciding whether to book a trial.

Students are grouped by learning pace, not just by level — if no existing session matches your child’s pace, we open a new one.

Decision support
These are the situations where extra support tends to make the biggest difference.
A-Math requires a different mode of thinking — abstract manipulation, formal proofs, and unfamiliar techniques. Many G3 students need separate support for A-Math even if E-Math is manageable.
Sec 3 G3 introduces more new topics than any other year. Falling behind on even one chapter creates a cascading effect because later topics build on earlier ones.
JC admission depends heavily on O-Level grades. Building strong topic mastery in Sec 3 frees up Sec 4 for exam practice and fine-tuning rather than learning from scratch.
If any of these patterns sound familiar, this is likely the right level of support for your child — a trial class is a good next step.
Frequently asked questions
Sec 3 G3 covers advanced algebra (including polynomials and partial fractions), trigonometric identities and equations, coordinate geometry, logarithms and indices, and introduction to calculus for A-Math students.
Most G3 students take both. E-Math covers the core syllabus while A-Math adds calculus, trigonometry, and advanced algebra. Taking both broadens JC and polytechnic options significantly.
E-Math focuses on applied problem-solving across a broad syllabus. A-Math introduces more abstract concepts — differentiation, trigonometric proofs, and algebraic manipulation — that require deeper reasoning and fluency.
Many students find Sec 3 the most challenging because the volume of new, demanding content is at its peak. Sec 4 focuses more on revision and exam technique, which feels more manageable once the concepts are understood.
This is common. A-Math requires different skills — algebraic manipulation, proof techniques, and abstract reasoning. Targeted A-Math support in Sec 3 is critical because the Sec 4 revision window is too short to learn from scratch.
Current Sec 3 students are the first cohort sitting the Singapore-Cambridge SEC in 2027 — a single national exam replacing all three former leaving exams (O-Level, N(A)-Level, N(T)-Level). G3 Math aligns to the former O-Level standard. E-Math and A-Math subject options continue under the SEC framework, and students can mix G-levels across subjects.
Four, at most. Students are grouped by learning pace, not just by year level, so each lesson moves at the speed of the students actually in it. When no session matches a child’s pace, we open a new one. In a class that size, every child answers questions, gets their working checked, and gets help the moment they need it.
