O-Level / SEC English tuition for G3 students
G3 English asks students to understand a text, shape a response for an audience and communicate a view clearly. We build those habits from Sec 1 and apply them to the SEC examination demands in the upper secondary years.

The move to SEC in 2027
From 2027, students sit the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate. The G3 English Language syllabus is K300. Its four papers assess writing, comprehension, listening and oral communication.
Where students need support
Comprehension answers stay too general
We work on the difference between naming a feeling and explaining which detail supports it. Students learn to answer the exact question.
Situational writing misses the reader
A response may contain the right facts yet use an unsuitable tone. We practise choosing and organising details for the intended audience.
Oral responses run out after one sentence
Students practise expanding a view with a reason and example, then considering another perspective in discussion.
What we work on in class
Make each correction usable
We focus on a manageable part of a response, discuss why it needs changing and ask the student to apply the correction in a new context.
Build from short tasks to timed work
Sec 1–2 lessons establish the reading and writing habits. Sec 3–4 work adds timing, question choice and completing the required task.
Review all four skills
Writing and comprehension sit alongside speaking and listening. The lesson plan responds to the student’s school tasks and recurring difficulties.

Clear answers for parents
How many students are in each class?
Four, at most. Students are grouped by learning pace, not just by year level, so each lesson moves at the speed of the students actually in it. When no session matches a child’s pace, we open a new one. In a class that size, every child answers questions, gets their working checked, and gets help the moment they need it.
Is SEC G3 English the same name as O-Level English?
From 2027, the SEC replaces the separate O-Level and N-Level examinations. G3 English is the subject level relevant to students who would previously have described their route as O-Level English. Check the 2027 K300 syllabus for the exact requirements.
Do Sec 1 students need full exam papers?
Not as their starting point. We first work on sentence control, understanding questions and explaining evidence, using tasks appropriate to the school year.
